Jason Isbell is a†Grammy Award†winning American†singer-songwriter†and guitarist known for his solo career and as a former member of the†Drive-By Truckers. With two Grammys and seven Americana awards as both an artist and songwriter, he still looks like a teenager though his stage presence belies that. Despite temperatures that dropped low enough for the roaming Mexican Blanket salesman to do a good business, the crowd was lively and familiar with all the tunes he played and sung, especially the hit something “More Than Free”, the title track from his 2016 Grammy-and Americana award winning album, along with “24 Frames”, another hit from that disc. His backup band, the 400 Unit (which came from a colloquial name for the psychiatric ward of Florence, Alabama’s Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital), did their part to keep things hopping!
