Camden Rocks was an all dayer event Saturday at Proud Camden presenting all along shattering bands–where alt-rock band Tigress could not be left out. That was a powerful night for the live music lover.
The first word came into my mind when I first saw Tigress was “dynamic”. A well-invented and intertwined band from Chelmsford, Essex ,which what they are proud of a lot, singer Katy Jackson, with a slashing voice shepherded in the audience saying with the distinctive accent, “I expected a bigger cheer when I said we were from Essex!” Since the band started conquering the big world, their audience is growing in a big scale, receiving regular radio airplay from BBC and also Apple Music, which made their song “Human” one of their Hot Tips for 2016, as you can read on their webpage.
Starting with a grabbing new song, which I sadly forgot the title, then ‘Miracle” flowed directly to my ears, later following with “Future” which was immersive, bringing the audience away to a far and dreamy place. Two speakers were perched on front of the stage, with a big ‘T’ sign on them, where the guitarists sometimes hopped on and off. Just taking a look at their live performance or their videos on their Vevo/Youtube channels, everything seemed precisely choreographed. Their intense music displays a strong identity and their impressive stage presence, in a nutshell, craves to be noticed.
Closing with the cracking single “Power Lines” was a really charging ending, giving the whole show a dashing peak and saying “Thanks very much!” The set felt a bit short though. Watch for a new EP, which is coming out early next year!
