Review: Karey Lee Woolsey’s album Redemption – Release date – January 2, 2026
Some artists get bad breaks by being at a certain place at a really wrong time. Take classic rock singer songwriter Karey Lee (Woolsey), who went to prison for 11 years on a wrongful imprisonment over a non-violent marijuana charge, something he probably wouldn’t even be charged these days.
While he was still incarcerated, his album A Million Miles Away hit the Billboard Heatseekers chart, while after he went free Lee became a sort of TikTok sensation, quite a good preparation for his latest album Redemption, released in January 2026. And it is all there for all lovers of what is these days dubbed classic rock, which in Lee’s case means a solid line between Bob Seger and Cheap Trick, and you can add along quite a few other names.
Yet, Lee brings along his life story along the way with some disarming sincerity and rough edges which he doesn’t attempt to tone down, adding some serious grit to his music. No Wonder TikTok loves him, and his fans will gulp up this album.
