Review: Aronieme – Cut Me into Pieces/ Take a Ride – Release date: August 12, 2026
Mystical has been a term used to describe the music of a particular artist quite often recently, but do those artists do anything themselves to project and keep that mystical aura themselves.
Calgary, Canada singer-songwriter Aronieme goes for that mystical thing not only through the two songs he has just released, but through the whole persona she has presented so far to her (potential) audience – no full name, not many images, and only a Bandcamp presence to which these two songs are exclusive to.
Yet, as that old saying goes, the proof is in the pudding, and both songs and Aronieme’s presentation provide something that fans of all things mystical, darkwave and dark dream pop love – moody melodies (good ones at that), excellent vocals and equally enticing lyrics to boot.
The fires burning round/ashes falling from the sky/lava are flowing by/Hell is where demons fly, sings Aronieme in “Cut Me into Pieces,” giving the lovers of all things mystical a taste of what to expect from her from here on.
