Review: The Cords – The Cords – Release date: September 26, 2025

It seems they love their combination of all things pop/rock over in Scotland, particularly when you combine most of them in one go – jangle pop, twee pop, and a hefty dose of post-punk energy to boot. The debut album by The Cords seems to prove that point.
Led by sisters Eva and Grace Tedeschi, and inspiration from indie rock of late eighties and early nineties. The band finds their cues from quite a few bands who they already opened for – The Vaselines, Camera Obscura, Belle and Sebastian, BMX Bandits and others. There is some extra energy involved there, as the 13 quick-paced pop ditties on their albums amply prove.
It is an album full of joy and fun and some quick chord changes as the sisters (and the whole band for that matter) show that they are full of pop/rock promise to watch out for.
