Review: Sons Of The East – SONS – Release date: June 27, 2025
The winter just begun over in Australia, but Aussie trio Sons Of The East had no problem coming up with a sunny breezy sophomore album ‘SONS.’ And they have already made a mark as Sydney’s Jack Rollins (vocals, guitar), Nic Johnston (vocals, keys), and Dan Wallage (guitar, banjo) have already racked up over 700 million global streams, 75 million YouTube views, and 200,000+ headline tickets.
What they are offering us is the poppier and rockier side of folk rock, an Aussie take on a cross between The Band and CSN&Y with touches of Fleetwood Mac along the way. Does it work? Well, tit is not all in the numbers (but those do tell a story), but a dozen songs here sound mature, well-developed and summery all the way.
