Review: Pleasure Pill – Hang a Star – Release date: June 27, 2025
You are two brothers and you decide to form a band and you decide to play your vision of a modern take on Britpop, what does that remind you of? Sure, with the reformed Oasis coming up with their upcoming tour the interest in Britpop is on again, and a good, guitar-driven take on that sound will certainly do the trick this summer.
And that is exactly where San Diego quartet Pleasure Pill led by brothers Paz – lead singer Jonah Paz and brother Ethan (rhythm guitar), and while the band do have that Britpop buzz of Oasis, Blur, Stone Roses or early version of Primal Scream, there is a more up to date guitar buzz added to their Britpop moves that add something of a personal touch to their sound.
Does it sound familiar? Sure does, but when that familiar sounds as good as this, who cares?
