Live Review: Blue October-House of Blues, Orlando, FL – December 10, 2022

It’s 9:00 PM on a Friday night at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida. Blue October walks out on the stage of a sold-out crowd. Stage is still pretty dark with only red stage lighting on. It was just enough light to see that singer Justin Furstenfeld was just as excited as everyone else to get the show underway. With his black leather jacket and shades on, Justin gets his Ibanez ArtStar and gets right into “The Kitchen Drawer” from their 2022 album Spinning the Truth Around and “The Way I Used to Love You,” “This Is What I Live For”, and “Oh My My,” from the self titled 2020 This Is What I Live For album.

From their eleven studio albums from 1998 to present, an array of songs came from nine of the eleven albums. The setlist included: “Say It,” “Fight for Love,” “Into the Ocean,” ,”All That We Are, 18th Floor Balcony,” “Home, Hate Me,” “Spinning the Truth Around,” “Sway,” “Shut Up I Want You to Love Me Back,” “James,” “Italian Radio,” and “Fear.”

They filled the show with audience interaction from Justin fist bumping some of the fans that he could reach up front, holding his mic out for everyone to sing along to speaking directly to audience members.

For the encore they came back out with Congratulations, “Where Did You Go I’m Less of a Mess These Days,” “Moving On (So Long)” and “I Hope You’re Happy.”
