Single Review

Loose Fit - 'Social Graces'

By Connor Shelton, Rock At Night St. Louis

Review: Loose Fit’s video/single – “Social Graces” – January 27, 2022

Australian indie group, Loose Fit, has just announced the release date of their debut album Social Graces. Set to hit stores and ears on April 29th, 2022, the album follows the success of their previous EP, Exhale, and will encompass 11 tracks which reflect the neurotic, anxiety-driven energy of 2020/2021.

Rock at Night Says: With a blitzed-out energy that flies in the face of the cool, controlled aggression of post-punk, Loose Fit deliver an infectious bop in the form of “Social Graces.” From the moment the drums kick in, you can’t help but bob to the rhythm as the band plows through the succinct two-and-a-half-minute composition. Complimenting the liveliness of it all is the Solomon Thomas’ directed music video, which sees the band start out in a reserved state of appearance before gradually loosening up and putting on wacky makeup. This all culminates in a delightful, uncoordinated dance number that is cut off by the last note of the song wherein everything reverts to a discomforting normal, and the bass-player walks off the set/out of the frame. For some spirited fun, check out the video below!
