Laji George will be the first one to admit that two of his biggest musical influences are Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. With his latest release, ‘Sittin Here Thinkin’, he showcases his admiration with traces of his favorite vocalists and actually drives it up a notch.

“Sittin Here Thinkin’” is a wonderful down-home song that we can all relate to. It was written about a union welder George worked alongside years back, someone whose steady, unglamorous presence stuck with him long after the job ended. The music has an easygoing feel that allows the vocals and lyrics to take center stage, but listen carefully for the wonderful bass fills that add so much to this song. From the very first verse, it tells the story of every hard-working man ( and woman) who has to struggle with the ups and downs of everyday life. Laji George delivers the song with a natural style that fits the reflective mood perfectly. It doesn’t try to be overly complicated. Instead, it keeps things simple and lets the song’s emotion do the work. “Sittin Here Thinkin’” was mixed and produced by Jonah Brockman. The new single is accompanied by a video that is simple but honest and thought-provoking.
