Live Review: 6 Speed Supernova’s single “Starfire” – Release date: March 16, 2026

What would any hard rockers do to hit upon that guitar riff that really works, both for them and for the listeners that hear it? Quite a few things, probably, as such a riff would cary any of their songs to the heights they desire and something their audience would crave to hear. Of course a good song to fit it in and an equally good performance will do the trick.

Well, it seems that California hard rocking trio 6 Speed Supernova have hit upon that riff on their latest single “Starfire,” which they have coupled up with a strong melody line and good performance, particularly from their lead singer Marie Gutierrez, with guitarist David Ballon (Marie’s brother) and bassist/composer Joan Torres keeping up with her throughout.

It might be no wonder, since the band’s single ‘BOOM’ was chosen by Classic Rock Magazine for their BEST OF THE YEAR compilation and 6SS also opened up for Steven Adler of Guns N’ Roses. Now it just might be the right time for them to follow up their EP, ALL ABOARD THE LIGHT RAIL and 2022 album GALACTIC BOOGALOO with a new one.
