São Paulo is bracing for impact. On April 4th, 2026, Allianz Parque becomes ground zero for one of the fiercest rock gatherings on the global calendar as Monsters of Rock summons an army of guitar giants and hardrock heavyweights for its ninth edition.  

This year’s lineup is a gauntlet thrown at the feet of every rock fan in South America. Guns N’ Roses will headline the festival for the first time, returning to the same stadium where they recently drew nearly 50,000 fans — a number only GNR could casually pull on a weeknight. Their set promises a cascade of immortal hits — “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “November Rain,” “Paradise City” — delivered with the kind of arena-shaking bravado only Axl, Slash, and Duff can conjure.

Making their long awaited Monsters of Rock debut, Lynyrd Skynyrd bring their Southern-fried triple-guitar assault to Brazilian soil — Rickey Medlocke, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, and Damon Johnson shaping that unmistakable Skynyrd wall of sound.  

Add to that: 

  • Extreme, led by the electrifying Nuno Bettencourt — still one of the most jawdropping guitar virtuosos alive. 
  • Yngwie Malmsteen, the neoclassical metal architect whose arpeggios crack like thunder. 
  • Halestorm, bringing modernday rock ferocity and arena-sized charisma. 
  • Dirty Honey, the new standard bearers of blues-rooted swagger rock. 
  • Jayler, the young British phenom representing the next generation’s charge. 

Together, they form one of the most ambitious lineups in the festival’s history — a multi-generational summit built on riffs, sweat, volume, and myth.

A Festival With History — Brazil’s Rock Legacy on Full Display 

Monsters of Rock isn’t a newcomer to São Paulo — its legacy here is written in distortion and decadedefining performances. The festival made its Brazilian debut in 1994 at Pacaembu Stadium, then under the banner Philips Monsters of Rock, with a lineup that included Kiss (pre-makeup return), Black Sabbath, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, and Brazilian icons like Angra, Dr. Sin, Raimundos, and Viper.  

The festival returned in 1995 and 1996 with titans such as Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Faith No More, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Motörhead, Megadeth, Helloween, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, and more — a run of shows that helped cement São Paulo as South America’s rock capital.  

After a long hiatus, Monsters roared back in 2013 at Anhembi with Slipknot, Korn, Gojira, Limp Bizkit, Hatebreed, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, and others — a revival that reintroduced Brazilian fans to the festival’s unmatched adrenaline. It returned again in 2015, bringing Ozzy, Judas Priest, Accept, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Kiss.  

Now, in 2026, Monsters of Rock embraces its legacy while pushing forward — pairing legendary names with the rising forces shaping rock’s future. Gates open at 10:00 AM, promising an allday inferno of riffs and spectacle.
