After more than three decades of friendship and music-making, Charlottesville, Virginia’s Christopher Barry and Gene Carr—better known as Barry & Carr—are set to release their latest single, “Make Me Know,” this Friday, December 12, 2025.
Rooted in a bond that began over 30 years ago, the duo’s sound weaves classic rock, R&B, and pop into something timeless yet deeply personal. Their songs are built on vivid storytelling, razor-sharp craftsmanship, and lyrics that carry the weight of real life. “Putting thoughts into words is the magic part,” they say. “But once the guitar locks in and lifts those words and feelings—that’s when we know it’s right.”
Compared to their recent releases, “Make Me Know” hits with a brighter, more urgent energy—an upbeat rocker with a sharper edge. At its core is a plea born from confusion and longing: trying to bridge the gap when love feels uncertain, desperate to return to the way things used to be. As Barry & Carr put it, “It’s about wanting the other person to finally see how you feel and to mend what’s broken.”
Above all, they make music because they love it—passionately and unapologetically. They’re their own biggest fans (with friends and family running a very close second), and the ideas for new songs never stop coming.
Get ready: “Make Me Know” arrives this Friday, December 12.
Rock At Night Says: Barry & Carr release an electrified rocker with a touch of R&B and 70s retro flare. We love the touch of organ and guitar solos.
