Anybody still remember the great nineties collective Elephant 6? Well, everybody should as it produced some great bands from Olivia Tremor Control to Elf Power and multitude of others, none of them turning out to be musical slouches and quite a few of them still around.

One of the more prominent band names there was Apples In Stereo and it seems that one of the co-founders of Elephant 6 and Apples In Stereo drummer Hilarie Sidney is set to continue all the musical qualities and pop-inclined charms elephant 6 (and Apples In Stereo) brought along with a new project, actually a Transatlantic one, that goes under the name of The High Water Marks.

Actually the project was developed way back in 2003 in combination with Norwegian artist Per Ole Bradset. After a series of albums, that were done via emails, and a pause of few years, Bradset relocated to the U.S. and after three recent albums The High Water Marks are back with a new release – ‘Consult The Oracle.’

Well, if they were searching for the right pop, jangly, melody-oriented sound that oracle just might have given them all the right answers, because all of the 12 tracks here are brimming with true examples of what modern pop/rocks should sound like.
