Dropkick Murphys embark on their Full Electric St. Patrick’s Tour on March 1st

These upcoming fully electric rock shows come off Dropkick Murphys’ largely successful European tour earlier this year as well as last fall’s highly-regarded (and first ever!) acoustic shows that explored the band’s powerful acoustic album This Machine Still Kills Fascists, released September 30.

The album is unlike anything Dropkick Murphys have done to date: A full album of songs that bring Woody Guthrie’s words to life. Not a tribute album or a collection of covers, This Machine Still Kills Fascists is a collaboration between Dropkick Murphys and Woody Guthrie – artists separated by time and space, but connected by a common philosophy – to create something entirely new. Dropkick Murphys and their longtime producer Ted Hutt aptly recorded it at The Church Studio in Tulsa (just a few minutes from Woody Guthrie’s birthplace, and the modern-day Woody Guthrie Center) and the album was also curated for the band by Woody’s daughter Nora Guthrie. The band also recently released a digital expanded edition, which features three live versions of songs on the original release and two alternate song versions. A second collaborative DKMs/Woodie Guthrie album will be announced soon.

Dropkick Murphys just released a compelling video for the album’s single “Never Git Drunk No More,” which features a duet with DKM’s Ken Casey and acclaimed alt country singer-songwriter Nikki Lane.
