New Single Release: “Hounds Loose”

South African blues rock artist Dan Patlansky has just released the first single “Hounds Loose” from his eagerly awaited upcoming album, “Shelter of Bones.” The new music is on the Virgin Music Label and Artist Services and the full length, 11-track album will be released on February 25, 2022. In the American music market, many might not know his name, but Patlansky has almost a decade of experience of creating music, winning various awards and guesting with other notable musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, Joe Satriani, King King and Joanne Shaw Taylor to name a few. He is also a favorite with the European festival scene and when he tours in the UK, he plays sold-out shows! This is an artist that one wants to see live, for sure!
“Hounds Loose” is a song with poignant lyrics re-telling the familiar story that dedicated musicians everywhere know about; the myth of old blues-man Robert Johnson who went to the crossroads of Highways 61 and 49 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, had another man re-tune his guitar and play a song on it and hand the guitar back to him. It is said that after Johnson arrived back in town, his guitar skills had greatly improved. Supposedly Johnson had sold his soul to the Devil for money, recognition and fame. Patlansky’s cut “Hounds Loose” is a bluesy, rock song, with great guitar solos and lyrics telling this legendary story in profound way.
