Welsh ragga metal legends Skindred are currently celebrating the news that their brand-new album You Got This is leading the race for this Friday’s No.1 Album, with the album sitting at the top spot on the Official Midweek Album chart.

That said the band are keen not to count their chickens too early as they have been in this position before, with 2023’s album Smile, and missed out last time around at the very last minute by just 150 sales.

As singer Benji says, “If they can put a man on the moon hopefully there should be some hope for putting a Ragga Metal band from Newport to number 1 in the UK album charts.  The love we have been receiving for our new album has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has gone out and bought a copy.”

Fresh from their show-stopping appearance on Sunday Brunch this weekend, they are currently leading the pack ahead of new albums from a number of major label artists. And as anyone who has heard the album knows, You Got This is an all-killer-no-filler set which features everything that people love about the band – hard-hitting slammers, mega addictive hooks, earwormy soundclash elements, and dancehall vibes.

ROCK AT NIGHT SAYS: Catchy, great melody, and it had me singing and chair-dancing in the car!
