Formed in Montreal, Quebec, in 2022, Taxi Girls is an all-female garage punk trio that quickly carved out a space in the Canadian underground scene with their hook-heavy, unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll energy. Channeling a blend of raw punk grit and 90s alternative sensibilities, the band is known for big pop-punk choruses and infectious, high-energy performances.

The trio is built around dynamic musical interplay, with members frequently swapping responsibilities to keep their sound fresh:

Milestones & Rock At Night Connection

The band burst onto the scene with their brisk, five-song debut EP, Coming Up Roses, in the summer of 2023. It was during this release cycle that they caught the attention of Rock At Night. In his August 2023 review, we praised the trio’s peppy, hooky sound, describing the EP as “a perfect slice of garage rock goodness that goes down like cold lemonade on a summer’s evening”.

Since that debut, Taxi Girls have only gained momentum. They have shared the stage with heavyweights like NOFX, The Hives, and Billy Talent, and even earned early radio support from punk godfather Iggy Pop on his BBC 6 show.

In 2026, the band released their highly anticipated debut full-length album, Static (via Stomp Records), which leans into their signature clash of pop melodies and punk anthems while tackling lyrical themes of resilience, mental health, feminism, and body positivity.
