Single Review: Return to Dust’s “New Religion” – Release date October 31, 2025
Over the past couple of years, Return to Dust has demonstrated that they are the real deal. With their throwback grungy style on their eponymous debut album and the EP Speak Like the Dead, Return to Dust has amassed a massive following and attention from the rock world. You are only as good as your last effort, however, and Return to Dust is keeping with the style nowadays of continually issuing new material with their excellent new tune, “New Religion.”
The four-man band – Matty Bielawski (guitar, vocals), Graham Stanush (bass, vocals), Sebastian Gonzalez (guitar), and London Hudson (drums) – have been likened to Alice in Chains, and “New Religion” captures that stylistic atmosphere perfectly. The intensity of the Nineties grunge acts is felt in the power chords coursing through the veins of the band, and Bielawski’s passionate vocals deliver a seismic blow to the listener. Put it all together, and it is a sizzling sonic effort from a band that is more than ready to become a powerful voice in the rock and roll world.
With Speak Like the Dead out right now and the new tune in “New Religion” also entering the rock and roll world’s consciousness, Return to Dust is hitting the road this fall with Myles Kennedy and Wolf Van Halen’s Mammoth. Two powerhouse acts like that do not just bring in a cupcake to open their shows and Return to Dust has proven in the past that they are more than ready for their time in the spotlight. With “New Religion,” Return to Dust thoroughly seize their place at the point of the spear for today’s rock and roll sounds.
