Review: Ben Denny Mo’s single “September” – Release date July 4, 2025

Ben Denny Mo

Singer-songwriter Ben Denny Mo has recently released “September,” the first single off of his upcoming eight track EP, The Norfkl Tapes, set to release this October. “September” is a sun-soaked summer love song that perfectly captures the feeling of the hot, late summer melting into early autumn — and the title feels quite fitting.

Upbeat, acoustic-pop instrumentals pair effortlessly with Ben’s raspy, soulful voice. Through this contrast, listeners catch a glimpse into Ben’s musical landscape, where emotion rules and energy flows.

Born in London and raised in Gozo, a Maltese island, Ben has drawn inspiration from this island upbringing. That coastal influence is apparent after even just one listen, as Ben has weaved it through every note. He’s often compared to stars like Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, and Bruce Springsteen, and personally cites legends such as John Martyn, Led Zeppelin, and John Butler as key influences.

Teaming up with Norfolk-based producer Jack Murphy (Youth Killed It), Ben has been able to further refine his sound while staying true to the roots that shaped him. “September” is only the beginning of Ben Denny Mo’s heartfelt storytelling. Keep an eye out for The Norfkl Tapes EP coming this October.
