Interview: Steve Dombroski and Dustin Buckley of Detroit band Visitor – Recorded January 6, 2025

With it being the new year 2025, Rock At Night is back in the podcast interview swing. In this episode we spoke with Detroit alt rock band Visitor. We were first introduced to the band when they performed in Detroit with VanGoGo. We recently reviewed their latest single “Hollywood Kid,” which was released in early December. It seemed only fair to find out more about this four-piece band comprised of Steve Dombroski (guitar), Randy Gray (vocals/guitar), Dustin Buckley (bass), and Jason Dombroski (drums). These longtime friends formed Visitor in approximately 2016 and released their debut album Origin Threshold in the midst of the pandemic.

In this interview, Steve Dombroski (guitar) and Dustin Buckley (bass) discuss the Detroit music scene, releasing the album Origin Threshold during the pandemic, the album’s unique artwork which is created by bassist Dustin Buckley, growing up with a famous father (Steve’s dad is Vinnie Dombroski from Sponge), the new single “Hollywood Kid,” and the use of social media in today’s music world.
