By Anita Stewart, Managing Editor

Release: “Shotgun Shack

First Single: “Dead Man’s Crawl” (May 7, 2021)

Date of EP Release: May 28, 2021

Five cool cuts of musical goodness by the UK duo, Paddy Wells and Tom Jackson! I love this recording, it makes me think of the South, hot, steamy weather and how I want to lay in the hammock and sip on a fruit drink (preferably with rum).

Dust Radio

With a great melange of rock, southern rock, roots, blues, country, alt-country and swampy good fun, these songs will captivate you and make you think of the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. How two guys from the UK can morph those images into music and reflect the ambiance of the geographical south of the US, I just don’t know! I am sitting here wishing that this was a full length studio album.

***Dead Man’s Crawl–Love this song! Great lead and background vocals with great bluesy, riffing guitar and harmonica. Simple, not a lot of instruments–they weren’t needed. (***This single and video was released on May 7, 2021.)

Paddy Wells and Tom Jackson

Shotgun Shack–The title song on this EP. Storytelling with more blues and slide guitar with harmonica. If you like Southern Blues, this recording is for you. Sounds swampy!

Fault Line–More rocky, alt-country, Americana sounding! Reminded of Creedance Clearwater Revival or The Grateful Dead in parts. Love the descriptive lyrics, slow and easy tempo on the guitar that is punctuated with harmonica.

Backslider–Fast tempo with rock guitar riffs. A dance song and great party tune to get the crowd grooving and moving. Lead vocals are great, nice backup as well. Reminiscent of some of early Bonnie Raitt recordings when she used harmonica.

Siren Song–Blues guitar and provocative lyrics, that refer back to the sensuous myth of the singing Siren, the water and hypnotizing magic!
