LOCASH

Within an hour of the gates opening at Bold Point Park, a tremendous summer thunderstorm drenched the venue and threatened the start of the concert. Thankfully the storm passed quickly and the venue staff did a fantastic job preparing the venue so the show could start on time.

Opener LOCASH got the party started with their hits centering around the basic Country staples of beer, trucks, and Country women. Vocalists Chris Lucas and Preston Brust thrive on keeping it simple and keeping their music close to their roots. The duo played songs they wrote for Keith Urban “Your Gonna Fly” and Tim McGraw “Truck Yeah” as well as a very credible cover of ZZ Top’s “Tush”.  However it was LOCASH hits “Drunk Drunk”, “Cold Beer Kind Of Night”, and “I Love This Life” that had the crowd singing and raising their beers.

As the clouds passed to reveal a beautiful evening, and a full moon shone above the stage, the waters surrounding the venue filled with boaters eager for more music. Their air horns could be heard as headliner Billy Currington hit the stage, and immediately sprang into two of his eleven #1 hits ,“ Don’t It” and “Thats How Country Boys Roll”

About as far away as possible from working construction and living in a tiny attic apartment during his early days in Nashville, Currington has released six albums that have produced 18 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.
Billy also set a new record when his number one single “Do I Make You Wanna”, charted an audience gain of nearly 9,500,000 over the #2 spot.

While Currington’s easy style encouraged a crowd sing along on “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer”, “People Are Crazy”, “Hey Girl”, it was a his closers “We Are Tonight” and a Garth Brooks cover of “Friends In Low Places” that ended a great night of Country on a high note!
