Stillia and Scuttlers at Manchester Academy: crisp set of indie pop gems

Scuttlers

R an B outfit Scuttlers, took to the stage first, and treated the healthy early crowd to some 60s’ inspired rhythm and blues, a fair few fans in the audience singing along to your tunes is always a good sign, they were tight, had a very good stage presence and there knack for writing there style of music was very impressive,

Stillia

So it was a double celebration for St Helens lads STILLIA tonight, firstly the release of there new single 4am, a perfect example of indie pop rock, beautiful harmonies and sing along chorus and secondly they are off to distant shores in support of Mod rockers Ocean Colour Scene, so with smiles a plenty they took to the stage with a swagger off a band who things are starting to happen for.

I have seen these lads a few times lately, supporting Rat Boy, at The British sound Project and playing Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival and each time they were better than the last and tonight was no different, they took it up another notch, confident and tight and they made the stage their own,

A crisp set of indie pop gems, fresh and modern with that underlying knack for a great melody which seems to be there in bucket loads with bands from that part of England, must be something in the water, these guys are good very good and hopefully they will be on everyone’s radar very soon.
