Venue: Behind The State Theatre, in a building entryway that was quieter than anything inside, St. Petersburg, Florida.

In 2014, Veil of Maya lost its lead vocalist, and they missed a real opportunity by NOT hiring Chaney Crabb. Just look at the video she posted to audition for the job: Audition. Pretty soon, the industry press was clamoring for her to be hired, like this article from Metal Injection. Alas, another vocalist went on to get the job, but Chaney’s audition impressed many, including Navene Koperweis, formerly of Animals as Leaders and now both her significant other and Entheos’ drummer. Evan Brewer, bassist, was also a founding member, and after a couple short-lived guitarists it seems they finally found the right fit in Travis LeVrier, especially judging by Chaney’s comments on his work in creating new songs. The just-over-two-year-old band has released two studio albums, the latest being Dark Future – and I’ll let Chaney explain why the title probably doesn’t mean what you think it does! The album, released November 10, 2017, has already charted higher than the previous album, which tells me Entheos’ future is anything but dark!
