Die Nerven (‘the nerves’) is a band from Stuttgart, Germany, playing post-punk combined with noise. Their music associates with the  80’s punk movement (like Sonic Youth, Joy Division, Bauhaus). The band started in 2010, released three albums, and their most recent album Out  has received very good reviews. In Autumn 2016 Die Nerven will release a live album which was recorded last winter. The band tours through Europe, and on the festival circuit they are often featured on the main stage. A concert of Die Nerven is a high energy experience full of contrasts: soft and melodic vs noise and sometimes tranquility vs violent explosions. RAN tried to capture that ‘feel’ at the outdoor festival ‘Welcome to the Village’ in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.

Die Nerven is Julian Knoth (bass, vocals), Max Rieger (guitar, vocals) Kevin Kuhn (drums)
