Friday September 25th was a great night at Walt Disney World, as David Cook kicked off the Eat to the Beat concert series at Epcot’s 20th annual Food and Wine Festival. Despite the heat and the rain, fans filled the theater for the three nightly sets he performed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Throughout the weekend, Cook performed some of his original hits such as “Light On”, “Come Back to Me”, “Heroes”, “Declaration”, and “Permanent”, as well as several of his new songs such as “Heartbeat”, “Broken Window”, and “Criminals”. He also treated the crowd to covers of Michael Jackson’s Billy Jean and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll”. During one of his sets on Friday night it started to rain over the outdoor theater, sending some to run for cover. To show his appreciation for the fans that stuck it out, David walked out into the rain while playing his guitar to get a little wet with the rest of us. This was a gesture that was greatly appreciated by his fans. His wit, charm, and entertaining performance kept people coming back for more.

If you haven’t been out to a David Cook show, you should definitely include it on your to-do list. Don’t worry if you missed the Epcot shows, as David just launched a new tour on September 30th to promote his new CD, Digital Vein. This is the first CD release by David Cook in four years containing new material. The CD was released on September 18th and is now available on iTunes. Check out the first single, “Criminals” and be sure to purchase your copy of Digital Vein today.
