Last week, The Gories played in Vera Groningen, The Netherlands, for a full house. Rock At Night was there and made a photo reportage.

The band hardly needs an introduction. Formed in 1986 in Detroit by a few friends, Mick Collins, Dan Kroha, and Peggy O’Neal, the band plays gritty garage rock with a kind of Bo Diddley inspired rhythms and other bluesy influences.

When they initially started the band, they had little musical experience, so they had to teach themselves how to play. The effect was simple structured songs with high voltage of energy. This is what they still do, and the public still goes wild.

The Gories are Mick Collins (guitar), Dan Kroha (guitar) and Peggy O’Neal (drums).
